Watch OS 10.2 Beta 3 Released

Watch OS 10.2 Beta 3 Seeded to Developers

Apple has recently rolled out the third beta of its forthcoming watchOS 10.2 update to its developer community, marking a week since the release of the initial watchOS 10.2 beta.

Developers eager to test the watchOS 10.2 update must navigate to the Apple Watch app on their device. From there, access the 'Software Update' option found within the 'General' tab in Settings, and enable the watchOS 10 Developer Beta. It's important to note that an Apple ID associated with a developer account is necessary to proceed.

After enabling beta updates, the new watchOS 10.2 can be located and downloaded from the same 'Software Update' section. However, certain prerequisites are required for installation. The Apple Watch should have at least a 50% battery charge and must be placed on its charger during the update process.

One of the key features of watchOS 10.2 is the introduction of iMessage Contact Key Verification. This function is particularly useful for individuals who encounter significant digital risks in their daily lives. This includes journalists, human rights defenders, and government representatives, among others.

The iMessage Contact Key Verification ensures enhanced privacy and security during iMessage conversations by eliminating the possibility of external eavesdropping. Additionally, it includes a Contact Verification Code. This feature allows iMessage users to confirm the identity of the person they're communicating with, whether in face-to-face meetings or during FaceTime calls. This added layer of verification is essential in maintaining the integrity of sensitive communications.
